My Role
Since It was a solo project, I did all project roles such as researching, user journey, wireframes, prototyping.
Problem
After usability tests, I have listed the problems that users faced while using Zingat.

Difficulties that users face when using Zingat:

-
Not being able to log in (via Facebook and Google),
-
There is no login page. Log in the section into the hamburger menu which allows you only log in via Facebook or Gmail. Users struggled to find the log-in section.
-
In incomprehension of icons and texts,
-
The homepage has more than one focus,
-
Clickable items cannot be discovered/ understand,
-
Not being able to use Zingat Chat Bot without refusing.
Finding And Empathizing With The User
In this section, I collected comments from current users by doing netnography. First, I gathered users' comments on Google Play and Apple Store and listed the last and most shared problems. I conducted both quantitative and qualitative research. I did face-to-face interviews with potential users (3 people). I also conducted a survey with 10 potential users. I didn't have much time to analyze that's why I narrowed the questionnaires. I did the survey with more people than the face-to-face interview. I quickly identified the user potential by asking closed-ended questions.
The preparation works before face to face interview on Miro.
What Did I Discover During The First Phase Of Research?
User Interviews
What Did I Find Out From Interviews?
I found out people get through similar experiences while looking for a flat. In Turkey, people used to look for a flat by walking around the streets where they want to live. Even though this tradition still works for some cases but the young generation tends to use apps for that.

Usability Test Report

In the survey study, I asked potential users closed-ended questions. Unlike the interview, I reached more people. I surveyed 10 potential users and users. Unfortunately, I didn't have enough time to reach and analyze more people. I wanted to learn from the questions:

-
Demography,
-
Interest in real estate apps,
-
The user and Zingat,

What I've Learned From Survey?
-
Zingat is not well known. Almost all Zingat users had problems while using Zingat.
-
The majority of users are male.
-
Middle-aged and older interest in real estate apps.

Benchmarking
At this point, I wanted to get to know the sector better. I determined the common and missing points of the leading companies in the sector. I realized all real estate apps have similar interfaces and features.
I gathered users' comments and did a small usability test. I listed the features and compared them to each other.
User Persona
I created a potential user persona with the data I gathered from user interviews. Based on this persona, I took a user journey.
Affinity Mapping
I have detailed the problems users faced while using Zingat. I divided 3 sections. The first was the process of buying/renting a flat. I asked to users tell me the positive and negative ideas. I put on the wall the most common ideas as spot sentences. The second one is to log in to Zingat. I chose it because, unlike other real estate apps, Zingat has no login page. All users had problems with this. Zingat only allows them to register by social media and it's hidden into the hamburger menu. For this reason, I wanted to understand the positive and negative impacts on users. The last one is, looking for a flat in Zingat. Users listed positive and negative experiences they had.
User Experience Mapping
In the journey, I demonstrated all the emotions and actions the user made and felt while using Zingat within a scenario.
Scenario: The user wants to buy a house in Ankara with his retirement bonus. Therefore, it will list the ads for sale using the map.
User Flow
Task: To list the listings for sale.

Wireframes
I created wireframes by trying many possibilities with the outputs I received from users.

Test
I did A/B test. I tested which one worked better by giving users 2 options. I ran this test with 4 users.
My Solution For Zingat' User Problem
-
I created a login/registration page as users are used to it. Thus, the user will not get frustrated by the registration part while communicating with the real estate office.
-
I prepared a quick search section by preparing 4 questions. The questions on the quick search section are questions that arose from interviews. If the user wishes, he/she will be able to return to the home page with a single click.
-
By making minor changes on the ad page (clarifying the icons, adding a description, adding a label, specifying the number of rooms), I made it easy for the user to browse the ad.

What I've Learned
-
It was interesting to see how quickly users got bored and quit using an app.
-
While I thought that the professional teams would make a very good UX / UI and I would have difficulty finding problems, I realized that I was wrong with this assumption at the end of the project.
-
I have observed that users prefer a simple and clear interface. That's why I made Zingat as simple and straightforward as possible.

The Part I added
I added a quick search section because all users were sure of the 4 questions when they look for a flat. Creating a quick search page, users can enter their answers and see the result immediately. They would not need to visit the homepage.
